    Most Asked Questions By Renters

    Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we get asked most often.

What exactly does my membership include?

Your membership gives you instant, unlimited access to all 26 documents in our resource library — 10 letter templates, 6 checklists and trackers, and 10 in-depth legal guides. You can download them as many times as you need. We also add new resources regularly as the law evolves, and all updates are included in your membership.

Are you solicitors? Can you give me legal advice?

We are not solicitors and we cannot provide individual legal advice for specific cases. We provide legal information — guides, templates, and resources based on current UK housing legislation. For personalised advice about your specific situation, we always recommend consulting a qualified housing solicitor or contacting Citizens Advice.

My landlord has sent me an eviction notice. What do I do?

Don't panic — most eviction notices are either invalid or challengeable. First, identify the type: Section 21 notices are now abolished under the Renters' Rights Act 2025 — they are no longer valid. If you've received a Section 8, this can often be challenged. Members can download our Eviction Notice Action Plan guide and our S8 Response Letter template. If you're not a member, our free Guidance Hub has an article on what to do first.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel at any time — there are no contracts or cancellation fees. Log in to your account, go to Account Settings → Subscription, and click Cancel. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. You can also email us at [email protected] and we'll handle it for you.

My landlord wants to raise my rent. Can you help?

Yes — this is one of the most common situations our members face. Under the Renters' Rights Act 2025, your landlord must issue a Form 4A notice with at least 2 months' notice, and you have the legal right to challenge any above-market increase at the First-Tier Tribunal (FTT) — completely free of charge. Members can access our Rent Increase Challenge guide and our Rent Increase Challenge Letter template.

Does the Renters' Rights Act apply in Scotland or Northern Ireland?

No. The Renters' Rights Act 2025 applies to England and Wales only. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own separate housing legislation. Our resources are written specifically for England and Wales.

    I'm a landlord — can I join?

Our service is designed specifically for tenants. However, we don't prohibit landlords from joining — understanding your tenants' rights is genuinely useful for staying compliant with the law. That said, our documents and templates are all written from the tenant's perspective.
